Emily holds a BS in Health Promotion from Southeast Missouri State University. She was born and raised in the Midwest, and spent a lot of time outside, but it was when her daughter was a toddler that she prioritized the outdoors. She became a director for Free Forest School (a nation-wide grassroots operation with a mission to get more families outside).
